Minneapolis Church Shooting Leaves Community Grieving
On August 27, 2025, a tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis claimed the lives of two children and injured 17 others during a morning Mass. A candlelight vigil at Lynnhurst Park, organized by Protect Minnesota and Moms Demand Action, drew hundreds more. Mayor Jacob Frey called for state and federal bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, emphasizing the need for action beyond thoughts and prayers.
