Apple TV+ Scores Record 89 Emmy Nominations Across 15 Programs
Apple TV+ scored its highest-ever Primetime Emmy nominations total on Tuesday, with Apple saying the streamer received a record 89 nominations across 15 original programs as the Television Academy unveiled the 78th Primetime Emmy nominations.
The total, from Apple’s July 8 press release, tops the company’s previous record of 81 nominations in 2025. The showing underscored Apple’s broad presence across both comedy and drama rather than a breakout driven by a single title. Apple said its most-nominated programs were “Widow’s Bay” with 19 nominations, “Pluribus” with 18, “Shrinking” with 10, “Slow Horses” with nine, and both “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” and “Palm Royale” with eight each.
Apple also landed multiple contenders in the top series races. In outstanding comedy series, Apple’s nominees were “Widow’s Bay,” “Shrinking” and “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” In outstanding drama series, the company had “Pluribus,” “Slow Horses” and “Your Friends & Neighbors.” The Television Academy published the official nominations list category by category, while Apple provided the overall 89-nomination tally.
The nominations also highlighted the streamer’s acting bench. Among the individual Apple nominees cited in the company release were Matthew Rhys for “Widow’s Bay,” Rhea Seehorn for “Pluribus,” Jason Segel and Harrison Ford for “Shrinking,” and Elle Fanning for “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” Apple also pointed to nominations for Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Gary Oldman and Michael J. Fox. Apple said Fox’s nomination marked his first acting nomination in more than a decade.
Apple’s record year, however, did not make it the overall nominations leader. The Television Academy said HBO Max’s “The Pitt” led all programs with 25 nominations, while “Hacks” set a record for the most comedy nominations in a single year with 24. That wider context reinforces the scale of Apple’s advance: the company improved on last year’s total while placing multiple shows in the academy’s marquee comedy and drama races.
The Creative Arts Emmys, which honor many technical and guest categories, are scheduled for Sept. 5-6, with the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony set for Sept. 14. In a statement released by Apple, Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s head of programming, said, “Great stories have the ability to entertain, surprise, and bring people together, and these unprecedented nominations recognize shows that have done exactly that.”
