Firefighters Battle Garnet Fire to Save Ancient Sequoias in California

The Garnet Fire, ignited by lightning on August 24, 2025, in California's Sierra National Forest, has burned over 85 square miles (220 square kilometers) of forest, grass, and chaparral.
