Microsoft has unveiled the official Xbox Game Pass May 2026 Wave 1 lineup, led by Forza Horizon 6, which will launch day one on the subscription service on May 19, according to an Xbox Wire post published Tuesday.

The lineup, announced in a post by Megan Spurr, senior community lead for Xbox Game Pass, also includes several other day-one releases this month, including Mixtape, Outbound, Call of the Elder Gods and Subnautica 2. It is also the first Game Pass content update since Microsoft cut Game Pass prices on April 21, making the new batch an early look at what the company is putting forward after lowering subscription costs.

Xbox Wire said Mixtape arrives May 7, followed by Outbound on May 11 and Call of the Elder Gods on May 12. Subnautica 2, listed as a Game Preview release, is set for May 14. The biggest addition is Forza Horizon 6 on May 19, with Xbox also saying players can “play early on May 15” through a Premium Upgrade.

Beyond those day-one launches, Microsoft’s Wave 1 lineup includes a broader mix of games spread across the first half of the month. Final Fantasy V became available May 5. On May 6, the service adds a cluster of titles: Ben 10 Power Trip, Descenders Next in Game Preview, Wheel World, Wildgate and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. More games follow on May 12 with Black Jacket and Elite Dangerous, while DOOM: The Dark Ages joins the catalog on May 14.

As usual, Microsoft also announced the games leaving the service. Xbox Wire said five titles will exit Game Pass on May 15: Galacticare, Go Mecha Ball, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, Paw Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship and Planet of Lana.

The timing matters because this is the first official Game Pass lineup since Microsoft’s April 21 pricing update. In that earlier Xbox Wire announcement, Microsoft said Game Pass Ultimate dropped from $29.99 per month to $22.99 per month, while PC Game Pass fell from $16.49 to $13.99.

That same April update also included a significant policy change: Future Call of Duty releases will no longer arrive on Game Pass on day one. Instead, Microsoft said new entries in the series will be added during the following holiday season, roughly a year later. In explaining the broader pricing changes, Team Xbox said, “Our players cover a wide breadth of geographies, preferences, and tastes, so while there isn’t a single model that’s best for everyone, this change responds to a lot of feedback we’ve gotten so far.”

Taken together, the May Wave 1 lineup gives subscribers one of the first clear snapshots of Game Pass under the new pricing structure — and under Microsoft Gaming’s new leadership, after Asha Sharma was named executive vice president and CEO of Microsoft Gaming in February, replacing Phil Spencer.
