Brief PEGI Listing for Grand Theft Auto VI Said to Detail Graphic Violence, Sex and Drug Use
A briefly published and then removed age-rating page for Grand Theft Auto VI appears to have offered an unusually detailed look at the game’s adult content, according to screenshots and multiple gaming outlet reports published Oct. 2. The reported PEGI listing rated the game 18 and described graphic violence, sex scenes and player drug use.
There is an important caveat: the PEGI page was no longer publicly available during verification on Oct. 3, so the detailed wording cannot be confirmed from a live listing. The descriptions circulating in press coverage come from screenshots and reproductions by outlets including GamesRadar and GTANews, not from a page still accessible on PEGI’s site.
Based on that reproduced wording, the PEGI summary said the game includes bloody violence with a “high degree of realism,” as well as “detailed decapitation and dismemberment.” Press reproductions also said the listing described frequent and prominent drug use, including cocaine the player can carry and use, alongside strong sexual content including sex scenes and nightclub interactions. One reproduced line, cited by multiple outlets, said: “Most notably, cocaine can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time.”
A stronger, directly accessible confirmation comes from Australia’s Classification Board, the government body that rates games and films for that country. Its public database entry for Grand Theft Auto VI, dated Aug. 27, 2026, lists the game as R18+ with the consumer advice: “High impact violence, sex scenes and drug use.” That Australian record independently confirms the broad content categories at issue, even if it does not use the same level of detail reported from the now-removed PEGI page.
As of Oct. 3, no public explanation for the PEGI page’s removal had been identified from PEGI, Rockstar Games, Rockstar North or Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company and publisher. Rockstar Games and Rockstar North are the developer entities tied to Grand Theft Auto VI.
PEGI, short for Pan European Game Information, is the age-ratings system used across much of Europe. Its listings can include written explanations beyond the simple age badge shown on digital storefronts, and those summaries sometimes reveal specific scenes, mechanics or themes before a publisher discusses them publicly. That is why even a briefly visible ratings entry can draw attention: it may offer one of the earliest official glimpses of what a major unreleased game contains.
