Indy Ignite Blaze a Trail in Inaugural Volleyball Season

The Indy Ignite, a women's professional indoor volleyball team based in Fishers, Indiana, concluded their inaugural season in the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) with a runner-up finish, marking a significant milestone for the sport in the region.

Established to bring high-level women's volleyball to Indiana, the Ignite played their first match on January 11, 2025, at the newly constructed Fishers Event Center. They secured a 3-1 victory against the Orlando Valkyries in front of a sellout crowd of 7,500 fans.

Throughout the regular season, the Ignite demonstrated resilience and skill, finishing with a 13-11 record and earning the fourth seed in the playoffs. Their postseason journey included a notable upset on May 9, 2025, when they defeated the top-seeded Omaha Supernovas in a five-set semifinal match. The championship match on May 11 saw the Ignite face the Orlando Valkyries once again, ultimately finishing as runners-up in their debut season.

Key contributors to the team's success included opposite hitter Azhani Tealer, who led the team with 16 kills in the championship match and earned a spot on the PVF All-First Team. Setter Sydney Hilley was recognized as the PVF Setter of the Year and also received All-First Team honors. Head coach George Padjen, bringing 25 years of collegiate coaching experience, guided the team through its inaugural season, emphasizing growth and resilience.
