Jonathan Taylor Shatters Records as Colts Triumph in Berlin
In a historic Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor delivered a record-breaking performance, leading his team to a 31-25 overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin. Taylor's exceptional play was among several standout moments that underscored the week's action.
Taylor rushed for 244 yards and three touchdowns, including an 83-yard run—the longest in the NFL this season—and the game-winning 8-yard score in overtime. This performance propelled the Colts to an 8-2 record and solidified Taylor's position as a leading candidate for the NFL MVP award.
The game, held at Berlin's Olympiastadion, marked the NFL's first regular-season matchup in the German capital, drawing a crowd of 72,203 fans. Taylor's 83-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was his 65th career rushing touchdown, surpassing Hall of Famer Edgerrin James' franchise record of 64. He added his 66th career rushing touchdown in overtime, securing the win for Indianapolis.
Reflecting on his performance, Taylor credited his teammates: "You remember not even the run, you remember your teammates embracing you after that play."
Colts quarterback Daniel Jones contributed 255 passing yards, one touchdown, and an interception. Despite being sacked seven times, Jones made crucial plays, including a 19-yard scramble on third-and-21 that helped send the game to overtime.
For the Falcons, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw for 177 yards and a touchdown. Running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 141 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Allgeier's second touchdown, a 1-yard plunge, gave Atlanta a 25-22 lead with 1:44 left in regulation before the Colts tied the game with a 44-yard field goal by Michael Badgley.
Taylor's performance places him among elite company, as he became the fourth player in NFL history to have at least 200 rushing yards and at least three rushing touchdowns in a game twice in his career, joining Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, and Derrick Henry.
In other Week 10 action, the Houston Texans mounted a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback, scoring 26 unanswered points to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars 36-29. Quarterback Davis Mills, filling in for the injured C.J. Stroud, threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, including a decisive 14-yard scramble.
Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough led the New Orleans Saints to a 17-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers, marking his first NFL win. Shough completed 19 of 27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns. The Saints' defense limited the Panthers to 175 total yards and forced an interception.
The Miami Dolphins snapped a six-game losing streak against the Buffalo Bills with a 30-13 win. Running back De'Von Achane rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense intercepted Josh Allen twice and recorded three sacks.
These performances highlight the dynamic and evolving landscape of the NFL, with individual achievements and team dynamics shaping the current season and influencing the league's future trajectory.
