Caitlin Clark's 45 points and 10 assists power Fever to 110-107 win; first 40-10 game in WNBA history
Caitlin Clark delivered a historic performance Friday night, scoring a career-high 45 points and adding 10 assists in the Indiana Fever’s 110-107 win over the Seattle Storm in Indianapolis, becoming the first player in WNBA history to post a 40-point, 10-assist game.
The 45 points were not only a career best for Clark but also a Fever franchise record, according to wire reports. Clark also reached another milestone in the same game, becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to make 200 career 3-pointers. She got there in 74 games, breaking the previous mark of 81 games held by Katie Smith, according to wire coverage.
Clark’s all-around line underscored how complete the night was. She shot 11 of 18 from the field, made 6 of 10 from 3-point range and went 17 of 19 from the free-throw line. She also finished with four steals and two blocks as Indiana held off Seattle in a high-scoring game. Kelsey Mitchell added 30 points for the Fever, and Monique Billings scored 16.
Seattle got a big game from Dominique Malonga, who finished with 28 points and 14 rebounds, but the Storm still dropped their fourth straight game. Indiana’s offense proved just enough to withstand Seattle’s push in the closing stages and secure the three-point victory.
Clark entered the league as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft after starring at Iowa, and she is now in her third season with Indiana. On a night that added another benchmark to her already fast-growing resume, her postgame reaction was understated: “I mean, it’s cool.”
