Fanatics Expands Global Footprint with London Flagship and Premier League Card Deal
Fanatics, a leading U.S. sports merchandising company, has taken significant steps to expand its global presence in the trading card market. On April 25, 2025, the company inaugurated its first trading card store on London's Regent Street, marking a pivotal moment in its international growth strategy. This move is complemented by Fanatics securing exclusive rights to produce English Premier League trading cards and stickers, starting in June 2025.
The newly opened flagship store spans approximately 8,647 square feet and is strategically located on Regent Street, a prime retail destination in London. The store offers exclusive products, interactive customer education touchpoints, and community-building events such as monthly trade nights, kids' rip events, athlete signings, and partner activations. Additional amenities include a state-of-the-art breaking studio for live and recorded card pack openings and a personal card creation suite. David Leiner, President of Trading Cards at Topps, a Fanatics brand, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, "We are incredibly excited to cut the ribbon on this amazing community-building retail space, one that we hope will delight collectors and be a true home for the hobby in Europe."
In a landmark multi-year agreement announced on May 8, 2024, Fanatics secured exclusive rights to produce trading cards, trading card games, and stickers for the English Premier League, starting in June 2025. This partnership encompasses all 20 Premier League clubs, allowing fans to collect items featuring their favorite teams and players. Will Brass, Premier League Chief Commercial Officer, commented on the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to welcome Fanatics as the official sticker and trading card licensee of the Premier League from season 2025/26. They bring an outstanding track record and strong commitment to innovation, helping fans all over the world express their passion for the sports they love."
Fanatics' expansion into the UK and its partnership with the Premier League are poised to have several social and economic impacts. By introducing a flagship store with interactive and community-focused features, Fanatics aims to rejuvenate interest in trading card collecting, particularly among younger demographics. The exclusive partnership with the Premier League is expected to drive significant sales, contributing to the growth of the sports collectibles market in the UK and beyond. Additionally, the store and the new product lines offer fans a tangible connection to their favorite teams and players, fostering a deeper cultural engagement with the sport.
Fanatics' recent endeavors signify a concerted effort to dominate the global trading card market. By leveraging strategic partnerships and innovative retail experiences, the company is poised to engage a new generation of collectors and solidify its position in the global collectibles industry.
