Chicago Architecture Biennial Celebrates 10th Anniversary with 'SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change'

The Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB) is set to celebrate its tenth anniversary with its sixth edition, "SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change," running from September 19, 2025, to February 28, 2026. This year's event, recognized as North America's largest exhibition of contemporary architecture and design, will be curated by Florencia Rodriguez, marking her as the first Latina Artistic Director in CAB's history.

"SHIFT" will feature over 100 international participants exploring architecture's role in addressing global challenges such as housing, ecology, and socio-political issues. Exhibitions and installations will be hosted at various venues across Chicago, including the Chicago Cultural Center, the Graham Foundation, and the Stony Island Arts Bank.

Notable installations include "Sunken Garden," an immersive experience in a historic Rebori apartment courtyard; "Surfaces in Flux," featuring inflatable architecture at the Cultural Center; and "TRACES," a large dry-stack brick installation reflecting on the 1893 World's Fair. The event is free and open to the public, emphasizing accessibility and community engagement.
