A multistate outbreak of Salmonella Richmond infections has been linked to moringa leaf powder, prompting federal health officials to initiate product recalls and issue consumer advisories. In response to the outbreak, several recalls have been initiated:

• Africa Imports: Recalled Organic Moringa Leaf Powder sold nationwide through their website.

• Food To Live: Recalled Organic Moringa Leaf Powder and Organic SuperGreens Powder Mix distributed through various online platforms and wholesale channels.

• Sam's Club: Ceased distribution and sales of Member's Mark Super Greens Powdered Supplements containing moringa leaf powder.

Consumers are advised to discard these products and consult healthcare providers if experiencing severe Salmonella symptoms, which include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Certain groups, such as children under 5, adults over 65, and individuals with weakened immune systems, may experience more severe illnesses requiring medical treatment or hospitalization.

Moringa leaf powder is derived from the leaves of the Moringa oleifera tree, native to parts of Africa and Asia. It is commonly used in dietary supplements due to its high nutritional content, including proteins, vitamins, and minerals.
