Charlotte SHOUT! 2025: Creativity and Community Illuminate Uptown Charlotte

Published:

Uptown Charlotte is set to transform into a vibrant hub of creativity and community engagement as Charlotte SHOUT! returns from April 4 to April 20, 2025. This annual festival, produced by Charlotte Center City Partners and presented by Atrium Health and Bank of America, celebrates the city's art, culture, and community through more than 200 events and attractions over 17 days.

"Charlotte SHOUT! continues to elevate the vibrancy of Uptown, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors and creating unforgettable moments," said Robert Krumbine, festival producer and Chief Creative Officer at Charlotte Center City Partners. "This festival is a celebration of Charlotte’s creative spirit and its ability to bring people together through art, music, food, and ideas."

New Additions for 2025

This year's festival introduces several innovative attractions:

  • CanStruction: A live competition where engineering and design industry groups create sculptures from canned goods, which are later donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.

  • Queen’s Greens: A mini-golf course featuring nine holes with obstacles designed by local artists.

  • Oracle: Larger-than-life inflatable characters that interact with visitors using AI-powered voices.

  • EdgeFest: A celebration of spray paint, local artists, and community, where artists create stunning masterpieces live.

  • Mi Casa, Your Casa 2.0: An interactive installation by Esrawe + Cadena featuring glowing red-frame houses with swings, inviting visitors to engage with public spaces uniquely.

Returning Favorites

Festival-goers can also look forward to the return of popular attractions:

  • Eggs on Parade: A display of artistically decorated large Easter eggs.

  • Pianodrome: An amphitheater constructed entirely from recycled pianos, hosting concerts and piano lessons.

  • E/motion: Interactive light-up see-saws that mimic the sensations of surging water.

Sub-Events

Charlotte SHOUT! encompasses several sub-events that highlight various aspects of the city's culture:

  • Charlotte StrEATs: Celebrating Charlotte's culinary scene on April 12-13, with StrEATs Uncorked focusing on North Carolina wine on April 4.

  • Carolina BBQ Festival: Held on April 4-5, featuring tastings from top pitmasters, live music, and local vendors.

  • Charlotte Ideas Festival: From April 3-8, showcasing leading thinkers and innovators discussing today's most important topics.

Economic and Social Impact

In 2024, Charlotte SHOUT! attracted over 642,000 attendees and generated a $17.1 million economic impact for Uptown businesses. The festival aims to build on this success in 2025, offering a diverse array of experiences that highlight Charlotte's creative spirit.

"We can’t wait to see how this year’s lineup inspires and engages our community," Krumbine added.
