Nvidia and Fujitsu Partner to Boost AI and Robotics in Japan by 2030

Nvidia and Fujitsu have announced a strategic partnership to advance artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, focusing on smart robotics and other innovations utilizing Nvidia’s GPUs. The collaboration aims to establish a foundational AI infrastructure in Japan by 2030, targeting sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, environmental technology, next-generation computing, and customer service.

Fujitsu plans to integrate its FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU series with Nvidia’s GPUs through NVLink Fusion to deliver full-stack AI infrastructure for sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and robotics. The collaboration also targets next-generation computing platforms built for zettascale performance, with integrated software support across ARM and Nvidia CUDA, alongside new partner programs to accelerate adoption. The two companies plan to launch use cases in robotics and digital twins to address labor shortages and drive automation, with a long-term goal of establishing AI infrastructure as a key part of Japan’s digital society by 2030.

This partnership reflects a broader trend of Nvidia collaborating with global technology leaders to advance AI and robotics. For instance, Nvidia has partnered with Foxconn to build AI factories and systems for the AI industrial revolution, integrating Nvidia's AI, DRIVE AV, Isaac Robotics, and Omniverse platforms to accelerate digitalization across various industries.

Additionally, Nvidia and Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII) have launched a joint AI and robotics research lab in the United Arab Emirates, marking the establishment of the first Nvidia AI Technology Center in the Middle East. This collaboration aims to develop cutting-edge AI technologies and robotics, including humanoids, robotic arms, and four-legged robots, with a key component being the deployment of Nvidia's new Thor chip, designed for advanced robotic systems.

These initiatives highlight Nvidia's strategic efforts to expand its AI and robotics footprint globally through partnerships with leading technology companies and research institutions.
